Mahmud Rakib. Born in Talukdar clan of Bhandaria upazila of Pirojpur district. Having a keen interest in news since childhood, he left the bank job and started journalism in 2012 after finishing his studies. Mahmud Rakib started his journalism career as a reporter in the private channel Digant Television. However, in 2013, Diganta Television was shut down by the state due to political intrigues. After the closure of Diganta Television, he did journalism for some time in another private news television Channel 24. Then, in 2014 he joined in a news-based television channel name Somoy TV as a reporter. After working there successfully for about 8 years, he started working in Ekhon Television at the end of 2021. Currently he is serving as the Assignment Desk Incharge of Ekhon Television. Due to his journalism, he had the opportunity to witness the July Revolution of 2024 very closely from the ground. The young journalist Mahmud Rakib has highlighted those issues in the book The Echoes of Red July.
